Meghan O'Brien
Director of Ecosystem Expeditions
Every ecosystem tells a story. Explore it!
Florida is home to more than 80 distinct ecosystems ranging from salt marshes, mangroves, and dunes, to pine flatwoods, hammocks, and prairies.
Program director & lead naturalist Meghan O'Brien will guide you through hikes, observations, and activities designed to engage explorers with the natural world. Naturalists-in-training will observe plants and animals living in each habitat, discover their natural functions, and learn how human activity may impact each ecosystem.
Join us the first Saturday of each month at a new park, with lessons and activities designed for ages 5-15 years old.
Private or adult groups of any age, please email us to arrange your expedition, as we use a different pricing system. Please schedule your private expedition no less than two weeks in advance to allow for county event permitting.
Expeditions are rain or shine unless weather conditions are severe. Binoculars are suggested. Please bring plenty of water and dress appropriately for your 2 hour expedition.
Have a private or adult group or 5 or more participants? Register by emailing Meghan at
